Chacott

While Chacott does still make a Coppelia II model, the shape of the box and the whole shoe has been recreated since the Chacott takeover by Freed of London. Here is the information and pictures of the previous Chacott Coppelia II design.

A shoe salesman by the name of Makoto Tsuchiya created the Chacott company in 1951. Not long after World War II, there was a severe shortage of good pointe shoes in Japan. A well known Japanese ballerina asked Tsuchiya to create a pair of pointe shoes for her. After studying her European shoes, he decided to start his own pointe shoe company.

Chacott has become the largest dancewear manufacturer in the world. They have introduced machinery that accomplishes several major pointe shoe construction steps traditionally time consuming and done by hand. These machines have revolutionized the pointe shoe industry, and paved the way for others with pointe making ideas to come forward.

Special orders are welcome. Their normal in stock shoes are available in B, C, D, and E widths. EE can be special ordered. Medium and hard insoles available in stock shoes. Soft and supersoft can be special ordered. Changes in vamp height, size, and back of the shoes can also be special ordered.

Coppelia II
Versatile, durable, and quiet. This pointe has a broad toe, and a low profile. Readily available in medium or hard shanks.

Elvira
A wider boxed shoe with a squarer fit. Medium or Hard shank.

Coppelia 1
My guess is that the Coppelia 1 model is no longer being made. I was able to get this picture from a collector. I also at this time do not know the specs of the shoe.

Japanese
Chacott also at one time made a shoe called simply "The Japanese". I do not have any specs on this shoe either.
