Not much is known about the original La Mendola company or their pointe models
before it was bought by Art Stone, creator of Dance Olympus and DanceAmerica.
Evidentally, La Mendola's management fell on hard times and that was when the
company was purchased.
This is what info we have on La Mendola models: One model was a suede tipped shoe with pleats. Another was a lighter-weight, satin tipped shoe for students At the end of La Mendola's pointe making experiences, the final 2 models they had were the following: 741 The Reverance: This shoe was completely handmade with a satin tip, pleated toe, soft box and wings, and a light shank. It was designed for advanced students. 742 The Artiste: This shoe was machine made with a pleated suede tip. The box and shank were designed for the beginning student. ![]() ![]() The following antiques are unknown as far as specifications and what style they were.
